cells are dynamically added when you access them.  If you left the
workstation cell as "openafs.org", the default, then that is all that
will be pre-configured for you.

which means that on XP you set the workstation cell to "mprc.mayo.edu".

this is the step you left out on Vista.

In any case, if you simply access your cell by name \\afs\mprc.mayo.edu
it will be added and if you want to pre-configure cells for your clients
you can do so either with MSI transforms applied to the MSI installer or
via Active Directory Group Policy.
