It might help you if I tell you that we (PDC) are and will be running Linux (migrating from Debian to Centos) on ia64s, so if you can port whatever application you need HP-UX on ia64 for to Linux, you can make use of our efforts to keep that working. I'm afraid but not astonished that the installed base of HP-UX and HP-UX with AFS in particular is minimal.
