Now I'm looking for some hints to debug this problem. Has anybody seen this before? The server is running openafs 1.2.13.

1.2.13? 1.2.13 was released November 6th, 2004.

I know... But never change a working setup... X-(

We started with RHEL in 2004 and migrated our fileservers from Solaris to Linux with this version. Then came RHEL 4 with kernel 2.6.x and the known problems of those kernels with AFS. So we desided to stay with RHEL3. And now we're making the step over directly to RHEL 5.

We upgrade whenever we get a chance. But with nearly 50000 users, several *big* picture archives and about a hundred projects with webspace in AFS and always not enough 'metal', diskspace and manpower ...

But the new repositorys make things easier. At least keeping in sysnc with the kernel versions. Thanks for this to whoever may be responsible.
