Never created a backup volume? To the community: How does this work "under the hood"? I thought, when I make a backup volume, files are "cloned" with link(2)? Is this the same for Namei and Inode? Does not look like it is done like that (all volumes on server pompano have backup volumes of the same size as the original ones) pompano# cd /vicepa/AFSIDat/p0/pGj+U/+/+/ pompano# ls -l total 5624 ---------- 1 root root 0 Sep 19 17:27 0++++6 ---------- 1 5937 adm 5754336 Sep 19 17:27 2++++A ---------- 1 adm root 2048 Sep 19 17:27 =++++2 pompano# stat 0++++6 File: `0++++6' Size: 0 Blocks: 0 IO Block: 4096 regular empty file Device: fd04h/64772d Inode: 2417392386 Links: 1 Access: (0000/----------) Uid: ( 0/ root) Gid: ( 0/ root) Access: 2008-09-19 17:27:11.705744327 +0200 Modify: 2008-09-19 17:27:11.705744327 +0200 Change: 2008-09-19 17:27:11.705744327 +0200 So how is it done?
