Okay. After checking it appears that it is indeed a 64bit process.

However, after running an administrative powershell and trying

msiexec -i openafs...

The openafs install begins, I answer to remove the prior version, and to do
a typical install, then I get a message that Files are in Use - close
windows explorer and retry to continue...

How can you kill the windows explorer ? Its the grandaddy of all things --
and it will restart itself .
