OpenAFS clients on Windows since last Fall have implemented the results of Jake Thebault-Spieker's GSoC project that computes the server preferences based upon the observed round trip times measured for each server instance. Jake is working on an implementation for the UNIX clients. A copy of the slides from Jake's presentation at the European AFS Conference 2009 can be found at http://www.dia.uniroma3.it/~afscon09/docs/part2.pdf Jeffrey Altman
