We were long-time users of CMU's "EMT".  When it largely
rotted, I rewrote a majority of it, leaving off a thing
or two we had no use for, and adding filesystem-agnosticism.

It comes with filesystem "modules" for AFS and GenericFS
(any traditional UNIX filesystem really where mkdir, cp,
and friends work).

We continue to use it, but I really don't support it unless
you find a show-stopping code bug (not a philosophical
difference "bug")
