Hi, In an attempt to test our schools planned XP->7 migration I've set up a separate network with some virtual machines (one acting as a (Samba4) KDC and Openafs pt vl and fileserver and one Windows 7 (64 bit) as a client). I have installed kfw (64bit) netidmgr (64bit) openafs 1.7.8 (64bit + 32bit tools) on the windows box, and can access OpenAFS volumes as expected. One thing isn't working however: putting user profiles in AFS (that is working well with XP on the production network). I have a testuser who has its profilepath set as \\afs\cellname\user\home\path\.Wprofile\Roaming. With the same setting XP stores the profile under the specified path. Windows 7 creates \\afs\cellname\user\home\path\.Wprofile\Roaming.V2 at logon as it is expected, but then writes to the Eventlog:
Windows could not load your roaming profile and is attempting to log you on with your local profile. Changes to the profile will not be copied to the server when you log off. Windows could not load your profile because a server copy of the profile folder already exists that does not have the correct security. Either the current user or the Administrators group must be the owner of the folder. If I manually copy (as testuser) the Default User.v2 profile to \\afs\cellname\user\home\path\.Wprofile\Roaming.V2 it gets ignored with the same error message in the eventlog. Please advise how to debug this. Cheers Geza _______________________________________________ OpenAFS-info mailing list [email protected] https://lists.openafs.org/mailman/listinfo/openafs-info
