Those 2 patches appear to help. The kernel module built, loaded, and
survived brief testing. I was also able to build the module against a
3.4.4 kernel with the patched source, but haven't tested that yet. On a
different system I'd built the kernel module against a 3.4.5 kernel
without patching, by the way.
More testing needed, but so far I see no problems.

Not successfully, I'm sure, considering OpenAFS 1.6.1 was released
way before linux 3.5 :)
I expect the following patches would help:
<http://git.openafs.org/?p=openafs.git;a=patch;h=cc63cbbc138f60d6b5964fa859dcd778717b24c2>
<http://git.openafs.org/?p=openafs.git;a=patch;h=407e7c90a97143d436ad3a6af6bbfa431c849191>
Or you could just try the head of the 1.6 branch.
