Hi everyone,

We have three AFS Cell servers, and we need to change the IP address for one of
the cell servers and a few (one-third) of the file servers. This is caused by
an upgrade and reconfiguration of our network. The machines will not physically
move or lose power. We used static CellServDB files and don't use afsdb or
DNSSRV records for our cell.

I know that I need to push out a new CellServDB to the servers and clients, but
what is the best procedure? Do I need to restart all of my AFS servers? What
will be the impact if I don't touch the non-rehosted file servers and let
them perform a service restart as part of the weekly restart?

I know the new IP address of the cell server, so I could push out the
CellServDB file ahead of time, if that will make things easier.

I know that I can use "fs newcell" on the clients to avoid restarting.

Thanks,
Jason
