The question is for what attribute test. In the past I've fought with
registry entries and file version checks, with little to no success.

What have you tried?
All of the files shipped as part of the OpenAFS distribution have file
version information embedded in their resource data. It is displayed
by the Explorer Shell Properties dialogs and the Microsoft "FileVer.exe"
support tool.

All OpenAFS installations also set the version information in key
HKLM\SOFTWARE\TransarcCorporation\AFS Client\CurrentVersion
MajorVersion

I think the registry info is the most usable from the point of view of
wpkg. I've tried file versions in the past, with not too much success :-(.
