I can imagine how this would result in Windows believing that the entire volume had nothing to show but I don't see how this command would result in the data for a single directory being deleted from the file server. A quota adjustment should not result in the removal of any data. How would the file server know what to discard?
I suspect the data is still on the file server and it just needs a new quota to be set. Perhaps by using a vos command instead of an fs command.
