You really should consider using OpenAFS 1.6.15, due to the latest security
fix.

If you'd prefer to use the packaging from 1.6.8, only with the
openafs-stable-1_6_15 tag, there are instructions on how to build your own
SRPMs here:

http://wiki.openafs.org/HowToBuildOpenAfsRpmPackages/

We're building OpenAFS packages in the CentOS Storage SIG, and it has
packages for 1.6.15 (although the kmod hasn't been generated for the latest
kernel yet).

The repo is here:

http://cbs.centos.org/repos/storage7-testing/x86_64/os/

Please give it a try, the package is still in testing. The packages are
also created from a modified RPM spec file, so you'll find that the
locations of openafs directories, executables and configuration files are
now more appropriate for CentOS (such as having the config files in
/etc/openafs and the client cache in /var/cache/openafs).
