kafs and af_rxrpc are clean room implementations. They are not derived from any IBM Public License 1.0 source code. That is why they can be part of the Linux kernel as in-tree networking stack and file system components. OpenAFS does not work with the kafs kernel module because the kafs file system is an alternative client compatible with IBM AFS 3.6, OpenAFS and AuriStorFS services. Jeffrey Altman
