It seemed not all our info was correct. We installed openafs-1.8.7, but we never rebooted and the afsd running was one started when openafs 1.8.6 was still installed.
It should be on the systems after a reboot (when possible), in openafs 1.8.7. (restart of openafs-client not possible while /afs is busy) But thank you for your input. ________________________________ From: Mark Vitale <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, February 25, 2021 3:22 PM To: IT.openafs <[email protected]> Cc: OpenAFS <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [OpenAFS] "failed to store file"/"Lost contact with file server > On Feb 12, 2021, at 8:16 AM, IT.openafs <[email protected]> wrote: > > Dear Admins, > > Our servers are running openafs 1.6.9, 1.6.10, and 1.6.20. > With the hope to get rid of occasional getcwd-issues, we recently upgraded > our clients (running CentOS 7) to openafs 1.8.7 > > About 3 weeks later, we started having occasional issues with afs-clients > which suddenly stopped working.
