Steve, Thank you very much for confirmation. Do you have any idea on why
the files created in these directories are not cleaned up when openais
shuts down? We will have problem due to this if we run once as root and
later as some other user.

This variable is supported and will remain in the trunk of the code.  It
will not be backported to older versions though.
