Hi Geoff, I've done all I can for the Perl bindings on Linux. The next step is to enable Makefile.PL to be run from the ${openbabel_BINARY_DIR}/scripts directory successfully. (Changing the WORKING_DIRECTORY to ${openbabel_SOURCE_DIR}/scripts/perl works, but is not the solution as there's no way for it to find the compiled libraries.) The specific problem is that it cannot find the CheckLib module.
To enable the perl bindings, you need to use "-DRUN_SWIG=ON -DPERL_BINDINGS=ON". On my system I also needed "-DSWIG_EXECUTABLE=/home/user/Tools/swig/swig-1.3.40/tree/bin/swig -DPERL_LIBRARY=/usr/lib/libperl.so.5.10 -DPERL_INCLUDE_PATH=/usr/lib/perl/5.10.0/CORE". - Noel ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ThinkGeek and WIRED's GeekDad team up for the Ultimate GeekDad Father's Day Giveaway.
