Hello Chris,

I've just gotten a virtual machine of Windows 7 64-bit working (on my
Win 7 64-bit machine) using VirtualBox. You might want to try this out
- it would be useful for testing Windows releases. You just install
Win7, (install the updates), activate it, and then take a snapshot.
Then, when you want to test it, you just restore the snapshot, install
the software, and run it.

It seems to work pretty well out of the box (with two minor mods).

(1) I installed VirtualBox 3.2.8 for Windows hosts x86/amd64 from
http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads
(2) I ran it and hit "New", Choose Windows 7 (64-bit), set the memory
to 768, then hit Next about ten times.
(3) Once done, you choose your new virtual machine and click Start.
This prompts you to put your Windows 7 CD into your CD drive, and away
you go.
(4) I had two problems: I think I choose "Windows 7" the first time
instead of "Windows 7 64-bit" - because of this I had to go into some
properties (somewhere - I can't find it now) and turn on I/O APIC
(http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=29130) - this should
already be set if you choose 64-bit. The other problem was that I
needed to turn on Hardware Virtualization in the Bios (as described as
http://nerdnotes.net/blog/PermaLink,guid,da06d77e-bd30-449f-9b04-0ac3c2e270b5.aspx)
- this may already be enabled on your PC.
