It would be optional, for sure. And it doesn't change the public API.

I'm not sure what you mean by a depiction module. I think it either
has to go into libopenbabel, or else be cut+pasted into the top of
pngformat.cpp, unless someone else has an alternative suggestion.

I forgot about the existing PNG support. Yes, I guess it would have to
be merged with this. Roundtripping should be no problem if we include
a mol file in there, for example.
