Hi,

I have just installed Openbabel on Ubuntu Linux 9.04. I am new to both Linux
and OB, and I was wondering:

I tried installing once before (OB 2.2.2) and I don't think it worked. The
other day I downloaded the newest version of Openbabel(2.2.3) and succeeded in
installing it.

How can I tell what version of OpenBabel I have installed? Is there a command
I can run?

When a new version comes out, do I have to uninstall the old version before
installing the new one? How DO I uninstall it if I decide to do that?

What about the folder from unpacking the openbabel-tar.gz file that I used to
install OB - do I need that folder or can I delete it?

Thanks for your help,

Steve
