Are you asking if there is a function in the openbabel library tat returns
the empierical formula with subscripts? Thre is not, though there is one
that returns the formula without the numbers formatted as subscripts. It is
simply an attribute of the obmolecule object. It wouldn't require much
coding to convert the nonformatted numer, like C11H11NO2 to include
formatting for subscripts in whatever format you want.
