I corresponded with Osvaldo, and he suggested the following: Use Python 2.7 (64 bits) from Windows x86-64 MSI installer https://www.python.org/ftp/python/2.7.12/python-2.7.12.amd64.msi
And then download the following packages from http://www.lfd.uci.edu/~gohlke/pythonlibs/: openbabel-1.8.4-cp27-none-win_amd64.whl numpy-1.11.2rc1+mkl-cp27-cp27m-win_amd64.whl Pmw-2.0.1-py2-none-any.whl pymol_launcher-1.0-cp27-cp27m-win_amd64.whl pymol-1.8.3.2-cp27-cp27m-win_amd64.whl Install using pip (see https://docs.python.org/2.7/installing/). It worked for me. Note, I had been using the incentive (paid) version of Pymol. I hadn't been able to import pymol from within python, but I can now with the open-source version. It seems there are some limitations in the incentive version of Pymol. -Eric -- View this message in context: http://forums.openbabel.org/install-of-open-babel-for-pymol-under-window-10-BABEL-DATADIR-issues-tp4659378p4659480.html Sent from the General discussion mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ OpenBabel-discuss mailing list OpenBabel-discuss@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/openbabel-discuss
