It occurred to me that it may be helpful to know what my virtual host
entries for this domain look like in my httpd.conf file. Well, just in case.
Here ya go:

<VirtualHost nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn:80>
ServerAdmin [EMAIL PROTECTED]
    DocumentRoot /var/www/html/vangemerts
    ServerName www.vangemerts.com
    ErrorLog logs/vangemerts.com-error.log
    CustomLog logs/vangemerts.com-access.log combined
</VirtualHost>

<VirtualHost nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn:80>
    ServerAdmin [EMAIL PROTECTED]
    DocumentRoot /var/www/html/vangemerts
    ServerName vangemerts.com
    ErrorLog logs/vangemerts.com-error.log
    CustomLog logs/vangemerts.com-access.log combined
</VirtualHost>

Of course, my IP is a real one, I just didn't want to broadcast it to the
list. :o)
