I'm not sure about Vista, as I'm running it on Windows 2003. I am setting it up as a service as I would expect it to run in a production environment.
The thing is, I was able to follow the wiki for the release prior to 1.1, and had bd admin up in a matter of minutes. I was up past midnight last night trashing xml files and gave up. I'm going to start from scratch again today, and detail every step I take. I would personally be more concerned with how it will run on Server OS's vs Vista.
