Thanks guys, That explains it, and I did vote for the ticket. I created a page for the filter, but I am not sure how that is linked from the front page etc. (and if it should fall into a category) This creates a problem for 3rd party applications that are not fully aware that there are SES URLs and might want to add on query strings, I encountered this in Mura CMS. I will look into Nitai's suggestion, and another option is to use mod_rewrite for this... Thanks!
