Excellent--appreciate your willingness to do this. And no need to be
embarrassed at all, I'm glad you sent this to the list because it'll serve
as a nice guideline for other people who would like to contribute.

Great question--this is and isn't related to GAE but it can go in multiple
places by putting multiple categories on the page.

I'd say both, but I'm pretty sure what drove the feature in the first place
was Facebook apps. It's a simple radio button in the openbd admin for the
non-GAE version, but since there's no admin for GAE you need to edit the XML
directly.

We probably need a wiki page covering how to contribute to the wiki. ;-)

Simplest thing to do is choose a simple page and use that as a guideline for
adding the new page. So maybe just open up
http://wiki.openbluedragon.org/wiki/index.php/GoogleAppEngine:URLRewritingfor
editing (particularly since that was contributed by another wiki
newbie!).

Once you have that page open, the major things other than the formatting
(and this is MediaWiki, so there are plenty of resources out there for
formatting syntax) is the category notation at the very bottom of the page:
[[Category:GoogleAppEngine]]

And you can add as many of those as you want.

In this case, I'd probably put this under the categories of GoogleAppEngine
(particularly since A) this is how it came up and B) there's no admin with a
radio button so there's no way to know that setting exists) as well as
Configuration, which we don't currently have a category for.

So you'd do this at the bottom:
[[Category:GoogleAppEngine]] [[Category:Configuration]]

And then when people go to this page:
http://wiki.openbluedragon.org/wiki/index.php/Category:Configuration

The article will automatically show up.

Some of this discussion gets into information architecture issues, but I
doubt there's enough Facebook-related stuff to warrant a category for
Facebook (I thought about "external apps" but that doesn't seem to fit
either), and the search in MediaWiki is really good so anyone searching for
Facebook will find your article.

Absolutely--that's why I asked you to do it instead of doing it myself, so
thanks for taking the bait!

Let me know if you need any additional help, and I'll use this discussion as
a bit of a starter for adding a page on the wiki outlining how to
contribute.
