Sorry, I'm of the opinion that the riding-on-the-coattails CFML-
processing engines (which is all of them other than Adobe ColdFusion)
should implement what ColdFusion does precisely, including warts,
bugs, stupidities and all. Any "enhancement" to the language that the
third-party engines make are inappropriate. Enhancements at the
application server level are fine, but "enhancements" to the language
are bad.

It might be more fun to develop the "wouldn't it be neat if..." tags /
functions, but ultimately any deviation from the core language just
makes it harder for developers (think about all the hassle web
developers have had with browser idiosyncracies over the years), and
simply acts towards dividing the already small CF(ML) community.

I am surprised you think this is the sort of thing someone should have
to request. It's core functionality of the tag. But yeah, noted.

Sweet. Will do.

The concept of eating one's own dog food, I guess. But it was just
meant as a bit of a chuckle.

Cheers.
