We have sort of gone down the IIS road at this point. The Apache mod_x-sendfile option seems to be the correct functionality whereby the web server layer and NOT the application layer is doing the heavy lifting of sending the file. I found a company that has an Apache emulator ISAPI that is willing to add that functionality to their product: http://www.helicontech.com/ape/ I will see what they come up with. Thanks everyone that responded it was very helpful. Dennis Powers UXB Internet - A Website Design & Hosting Company P.O.
