On whim I thought maybe my administrator settings from the control panel may have something to do with it. Leaving my <cfset this.sessionTimeout = createTimeSpan(0,0,20,0) /> statements the same I changed the admin session values to expire after 15 minutes (then restarted to server just to be sure. Low and behold, all the debug statements reflect what is set in the admin console, not what I've been setting with the this.sessionTimeout values. When I do explicitly set them they are changed on the next request to what's shown in the admin screen.
Is <cfset this.sessionTimeout = createTimeSpan(0,0,#someNumber#,0) /> now how session timeout is set?
