I love Eclipse and absolutely detest Dreamweaver but I never do anything with visual views of anything, so if you work differently you may want different tools. At a minimum for ease of deployment to GAE you'll want to get familiar enough with Eclipse that you can at least use that piece of it. Not to mention being able to run and test your app from within Eclipse.
