I know there is more to HTTP than GET...
But from all the blog chatter out there, I got the impression that GET
was some kind or REST requirement.
Either I'm crafting my search strings badly, or there's not a lot of
non-GET examples out there. Perhaps just because that's the easiest way
to test or demo...

HTTP has a lot more methods than GET. :-) Full REST uses POST, PUT,
DELETE to manage all this stuff.
