I can putty to port 3690 (which is what svn protocol uses) and I get
this:
( success ( 2 2 ( ) ( edit-pipeline svndiff1 absent-entries commit-
revprops depth log-revprops partial-replay ) ) )

So I'm guessing the port isn't blocked.

Possibly there's a mismatch between 1.5/1.6 client/server stuff, but
it's getting late so can't look into that now.

Is there a reason for not supporting http protocol? Even if only for a
read-only view.
