Yes, from my experience so far with NoSQL databases, that is a wise plan. In this case I have a base Bean class that my entity CFCs are extending from, and a lazy toStruct() method that will give me a structure of all the properties for this datastore entity, and leave out the OpenBD GAE Google functions. In this case it is getting to an empty array property that is coming back NULL, and that NULL value is getting in the way of methods like *serializeJson*.
