Hi all: Over the past several days I've been trying to add a plugin to my OpenBD install and every effort to date has failed.
What appears to be happening is that while following the instructions for plugin installation (http://openbd.org/manual/?/plugin) and rebooting my server, the plugins simply do not load. I have a simple test page set up to test for the existence of the operating plugin, I have the bluedragon.log file from the OpenBD admin and the support folk hosting my site has given me access to a log file generated by the Tomcat server when it reboots. Suffice to say, while I'm fairly certain I'm putting the files in the correct directory (in my case / opt/openbd/lib/) and confirming that the OpenBlueDragon.jar file is there, it simply doesn't load up on reboot. I get this entry in the bluedragon.log file: 23/03/11 14:10.51: -] PluginManager Auto Discovery (openbdplugin- XXXX.jar) ... 23/03/11 14:10.51: -] ... found: 0 plugins Matt Woodward has been kind enough to try and help me troubleshoot this issue for the past few days (as I was originally attempting to make use of his OpenBD Twitter plugin) but we've gained no ground on it and now I'm contemplating Alan Holden's "disgusting overkill approach" and simply dropping the .jar file into every single lib directory I can see. However, before I go to the nuclear option, I'd like to solicit those who might know better for their insights/advice. Oh, in an effort to cut down on what the issue might be (and isolate it from whether the plugin code itself works or not) I've switched to trying to use the OpenBD spreadsheet plugin (as it's a standalone .jar file whereas the Twitter plugin requires use of the Twitter4j .jar file) but still cannot get any plugin file to load on a server reboot...period. I'm feeling a lot like whining "Help me Obiwan Kenobi, you're my only hope"...except that sounds even more pathetic. :) Seriously though, and help/insight/magic that can be brought to bear on this would be greatly appreciated. -- official tag/function reference: http://openbd.org/manual/ mailing list - http://groups.google.com/group/openbd?hl=en
