Are you getting an OOM (out of memory) error from the JVM? How hot deploying the application to Tomcat (i.e. reloading the app container in the Tomcat admin)? Based on my research, OOM only happens when reloading the web context in Tomcat. I guess I'm asking how you are getting this to occur and see this in the logs?
