..because web logs where the task runs shows two hits (from the same IP and with user agent BlueDragon) . also pushing start date forward so as to 'disable', doesn't stop the task until a restart by the looks either.
Any way solved the problem by using windows scheduled tasks and a vbs script to call a url and save output to file. Easier than trying to work out what was going on.
