Hello,
Is there a CFML app that can monitor a OpenBD instance and recommend
JVM tuning suggestions to increase number of connections and
performance?
I'm currently using the OpenBD Read2Run on Mac OS X. What I'm looking
to do is get around 5000 concurrent connections. My app is doing JSON
web service, no real web UI.
Thanks,
Charlie
You can use VisualVM which is bundled with Sun (sic Oracle) JDK to
monitor things like heap space, perm gen, etc.
Use something like Apache JMeter to build a test bed to similar heavy
load for your application.
Good luck... although it might be premature optimization at this point.
At GreatBizTools, we do some basic load testing but nothing very deep
unless we're seeing load related performance issues. Usually at point,
caching and SQL query improvement usually give a bigger bang for your
buck than trying to optimize the JVM.
