That's weird, don't both engines just pipe anything between the CFQUERY tags straight to the JDBC driver? IOW, the escaping rule applies to the database's own syntax, not to the CFML language which wraps around it.

So at my first naive glance, um... a difference between the driver version that each CFML engine uses?
What's the database you're using, and error you're getting?
