Aaron,
 The Openbd ini did the trick for me to start the launcher but the engine
won't start yet.

 Actually some action on the tool (probably answering yes to the confusing
question " the directory is not valid. should we make it one?") deleted a
whole lot of stuff.

Trying to figure out where to get the correct jars from. Perhaps from the
JEE Standard WAR as suggested  by you.
