You have a choice. Learn more of cf to add ui interaction or pick up powerful js libraries to do that and gain much more that in any case would remain the turf of js. I guess openbd folks have decided not to do what js can do best. In fact you can now run js code on server side with in cfscript tag. Yes you can!
