If you installed using the installer then, in general, you should be able to
simply update the OpenBD jars to run the latest version of OpenBD. The same is
true of Tomcat - with some subtle config file updates - as well as the JRE. The
installer was just a way to organize the various pieces and put them all
together in a relatively standardized way. If I recall correctly, the OpenBD
jars can be found in the /opt/openbd/lib/ directory.

I can't comment on the Ready2Run version since I've never used it, but with
Jetty, you should be able to connect to it with a http proxy if nothing else.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,
Jordan Michaels

Subject: [OpenBD] Upgrade path questions

Hi all,

We have a number of servers that are using the vivotech installer with
lunix (apache/tomcat) - single install using context in the server.xml file
to serve cfm from virtual hosts.

We would like to look into upgrading to a more current version of OpenBD
(the installer only uses version 2.0.2) and from reading the short blurb
on the site regarding the "Ready2Run" version, specifically the "utilize
CFML across all contexts and virtual hosts" ... would this be a viable
upgrade path?

If so, what would be a general upgrade process? Can we connect jetty to
apache in a similar way that we do with tomcat?

Any thoughts would be very helpful.

Thanks,
Alan
