Hi Jason,

I have had great success using mobileESP - http://blog.mobileesp.com/

They have a Java version which you need to compile/build, but once you have 
done that you can use the Java class direct or create a simple CF wrapper 
for it.

This parses the user agent string for you and lets you perform various 
tests against it.
