./configure --help indicates:
--enable-external-tests Include the VTY/CTRL tests in make check
[default=no]
but
./configure ... --enable-external-tests
configure: WARNING: unrecognized options: --enable-external-tests
the name of the option seems to be --enable-ext-tests.
