With regard to OOo, my experience is that compiling the port

http://www.openbsd.org/cgi-bin/man.cgi?query=ports&sektion=7&format=html

was rather unstable. That's why they do not recommend to use ports,
one among a number of reasons

Otherwise you can use linux simulation....

 Edit /etc/fstab and add /proc /proc procfs rw,linux 0 0

Create /proc and mount it

Edit /etc/sysctl.conf and check that linux compatibility; kern.emul.linux=1

If it was set to zero, set it up it for your session; /sbin/sysctl -w
kern.emul.linux=1

You'll need the linux emulation; env PKG_PATH='foobar' pkg_add redhat

Download OpenOffice for _Linux_ and untar it.

Install the rpms with mkdir /opt
and /emul/linux/bin/rpm --nodeps --ignoreos --ignorearch -ivh *.rpm

You'll find the things in /opt/openoffice.org2.0/program/s*.

I.e.:  /opt/openoffice.org2.0/programs/swriter etc etc

You should add the path to your zshrc/ bashrc (whatever you have)

Cheers,

Pau
