I'll repeat this -- I went and looked, and found about 60 or so
candidates. I grabbed one to evaluate, but it sucked.
(that was "PCManX"). There look to be others that might meet
your needs. But life is short, I don't have an installed apache
to test against, and my connectivity is at 54Kb... so.
At sourceforge, use the search filter to limit results to Posix
OS's etc. My next try might have been the "vaxBB" thing, I think
it was named.
I looked at WWIV (there's a name from the past!), but it looked
like it was windoze code.
We can probably help out if you find something promising there
and run into porting snags with it.
