Hi Peter,

I just upgraded this morning to the latest snapshot to test Pedro's
patch to another problem so now I'm running:

OpenBSD 4.1-current (GENERIC) #1242: Fri Mar 30 12:37:10 MDT 2007
    [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/src/sys/arch/macppc/compile/GENERIC

AllowAperature is set to 2.

$ sysctl -a | grep aper
machdep.allowaperture=2

I tried startx without an xorg.conf file and I get the following error message:
X connection to :0.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown)
The log file is http://anarcap.com/files/xorglog_noconf.txt

So then I ran 'X -configure' as root and copied the conf file to /etc/X11/ .
The conf file is at: http://anarcap.com/files/xorg.conf (it has
iBookHacks uncommented as it's the file I used in the my last test).

Once I ran 'startx' as a regular user, the screen and keyboard locked
up with a blank display. I could SSH into it and grabbed the following
log:
http://anarcap.com/files/xorglog_autoconf_running.txt

I killed xinit and uncommented iBookHacks in the conf file.

Once again the machine locked up as before. That log is here:
http://anarcap.com/files/xorglog_ibookhacks_running.txt

As I mentioned before, the iBook worked fine in early January with a
late November snapshot, as well as with 4.0 -release. I haven't been
able to get X to work with newer snapshots since January (but in late
January I went back to 4.0 and it was fine).

I just booted into OS X for the first time in 6 months, and I've
noticed that the screen is flickering. Is something broken in the
hardware (but if that's the case then why do earlier snapshots work)?

Let me know if you need more information. I could again reinstall 4.0
-release on it if it's necessary.

Thanks, Marius
