Thanks. Unfortunately, I don't think that will help. Both xmix and aumix, as I understand it, are interfaces to /dev/mixer; the problem is, the audio device doesn't get any mixer controls configured in the first place when the driver loads:
uaudio0: audio rev 1.00, 0 mixer controls audio1 at uaudio0 ... and "mixerctl -a" shows nothing, nada, zip. There's nothing configured for /dev/mixer. I think the problem is at a lower level, during driver initialization & configuration? -- Scott On Nov 8, 2007 6:36 PM, Jon Drews <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > On 11/8/07, Scott Prater <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > I just installed OpenBSD for the first time last week: version 4.1 (I > > installed it on Oct 30), GENERIC kernel. > > > > Everything worked, except for some issues with my USB external sound > > card (M-Audio Audiophile USB). > > > > I can play mono out of it, but I can't seem to get stereo. > > Unfortunately, there are no mixer controls available. > > Hi Peter: > > You need to either get Xmix or Aumix packages from here to have mixer > controls: > http://www.openbsd.org/4.1_packages/i386.html > > Alternatively you can use mixerctl: > MIXERCTL(1) OpenBSD Reference Manual MIXERCTL(1) > > NAME > mixerctl - control audio mixing > > > See the FAQ here for package installation: > http://www.openbsd.org/faq/faq15.html > > -- > Kind regards, > Jonathan > _______________________________________________ > Openbsd-newbies mailing list > [email protected] > http://mailman.theapt.org/listinfo/openbsd-newbies > _______________________________________________ Openbsd-newbies mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.theapt.org/listinfo/openbsd-newbies
