The Opportunity:
We are looking for a talented Web Development Engineer who likes to think
out of the box. The environment is fast-paced with user-centered, iterative
design and development cycles. You will work primarily on the team
responsible for user experience with other Web Development Engineers,
Designers, Product Managers, and other Engineers in a development
environment that is extremely collaborative. We welcome the opportunity to

Responsibilities:
. The Web Development Engineer will be part of a team responsible for
the development of Technorati web-service applications primarily in PHP
using Apache and Linux.
. You will be expected to lead in the writing of standards-compliant
complex CSS 2 and some CSS 3, XHTML, JavaScript.
. You will be responsible for developing production-level code as well
as proof-of-concepts and prototypes. Your work must be fully cross browser
compliant.
. You will take ownership of your individual projects and utilize your
hands-on experience to interface and collaborate on parallel projects.
. You will work primarily with PHP, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX and
procedural and object-oriented design, dynamic content retrieval,
performance optimization techniques, unit testing techniques, debugging
techniques, state management, HTTP, and Apache.
Requirements:
. You have a strong command of CSS, HTML/XHTML, PHP, JavaScript, AJAX
and recent development and best practices in each.
. You are well versed in code optimization and software design
principles, and have a passion and demonstrated experience in UI design and
development.
. You must be able to exercise innovation in support of UI design and
heuristics through your expertise in client development to enhance the
overall user experience.
. The ideal candidate will have a BSCS/MSCS or equivalent with 3+
years of relevant web programming experience, or 5+ years in CSS,
JavaScript, and PHP. You must be fluent with Linux.
. You must have fluency in publishing and parsing semantic XHTML and
micro formats
Pluses:
. Knowledge of and experience publishing and parsing semantic XHTML
and micro formats.
. Excellent writing skills.
. Excellent wiki editing skills on wiki systems such as Media Wiki,
MoinMoin, etc.
. Experience with CVS and the Bugzilla bug tracking tool and the
Request Tracker issue tracking tool.

shouldn't they be a "flavor" too? LIke "no_x11" or "gnome" flavors of
software???
