I am rising a problem about DN parsing. Currently we support very strict
DN parsing. As things have changed since the start of the project some
direction must be taken to support different kind of DNs. My proposal is
to write a module where DNs are handled.
Many changes are needed for this in almost every module but we could support
DNs like:
CN=www.me1.com, CN=www.me2.com,...
or more complex ones (to support VPNs, routers, etc... ).
If you do agree with that I could start the new module I would call
something like:
OpenCA::X500::DN
or
OpenCA::X509::DN
Modules that should use it for DN parsing (issuer and/or subject) are:
OpenCA::X509
OpenCA::CRL
OpenCA::PKCS7
OpenCA::CRR
some more ?

P.S.: Thinking about additional modules we could have an
OpenCA::X509::Extensions for certificate extensions management. What do you
think about this too ?
