when checking back with Michael he told me to post my problems to this list.
Since we want to do some development on the LDAP part of 0.9.2, we downloaded the newest available Snapshot 20040213. There is one file missing and thus make install-online stops with an error. The missing file is: <openca-root>/etc/openssl/extfiles/CA_Operator.ext.template
After copying this file from an older distribution, make install works fine. I am not sure whether the bug really is the missing file or whether it is rather in the Makefile requesting that file. All other *.ext.template files I could find in that directory in the older distribution are missing in the Snapshot.
Sorry, I checked the snapshot and the file is in the snapshot. BTW I heavily changing the design of the LDAP code because of two requests. Load balanced LDAP servers are the first problem. They often do load balancing with DNS round robin. So you we should only start one connection if we change the LDAP to avoid inconsistent states. The second problem are schemachanges. I had three requests in the last time where somebody needs a changed schema. I put all the schema stuff into ldap.xml. This allows the usage of your own schemas.
I will publish a new snapshot if the new ldap code works for my two directory servers.
